The family-friendly expo will feature projects and programs from over 100 schools, universities, companies, and organizations in the greater Cincinnati-northern Kentucky regions. Enjoy workshops and competitions, including drone relays, 3D design, outlaw derby races, as well as delicious pies, fries, kabobs, sandwiches, waffles and shaved ice from area food trucks! Where and when will this be held? This year’s World Maker & Inventor Expo will be hosted at Ignite Institute from 10am – 3pm on Saturday, March 28, 2020. The address for Ignite Institute is 37 Atlantic Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. The Professional Development sessions will run simultaneously along with the Maker Expo. What is this about PD at the Expo??? NEW THIS YEAR! We are hosting professional development sessions for teachers to participate in! We are currently looking for individuals to host sessions related to STEAM Education! Industry professionals, hobbyists, and educators are all invited to lead sessions – these can be hands-on workshops or research-based presentations. All sessions will last approximately 45-minutes and will run simultaneously with the Expo! I would like to host a session/multiple sessions. Now what? We invite you to complete this form in order to host a session at this year’s World Maker Expo. All teachers in the region will be invited to attend these sessions. We need your help to make this PD a success! Please complete the form no later than January 15! What kinds of sessions will be available? Our goal is to provide sessions that are inviting to all teachers, regardless of grade or content! We are currently working with NKCES and other partners to broaden our topics to include STEM in the Special Education environment, English Language Learners and STEM, Make-and-Take STEM activities, Sustainability of Makerspaces, and more. Do I get FLEX credit for attending these sessions? With the approval of your building principal, yes. We will provide you with a certificate of attendance for joining these sessions! Attending the expo will also count for the equivalent of one session! I am planning to host a booth. Can I also attend sessions? Yes. If you need additional support to run your booth while you attend a session, please let us know. We will help coordinate to have Maker Ambassadors work with your booth so you can attend sessions. I am a business/organization wanting to host a session. What do I get in return? In exchange for leading two or more sessions, we will include you as an event sponsor for the event at the bronze level. We will include your business logo on our event banner and promote your business on our website. You may also bring your own banner to hang at the venue on the date of the expo.
