The Brick Build Challenge is open to students in grades PreK-8.

What Time?
All builds must be ready for display at 9:30am on the morning of May 11th. A gallery of all the masterpieces will be available to The Maker Expo attendees to view from 10am-2pm. The Maker Expo attendees to vote on the "People's Choice" award throughout the gallery time.

Theme?
Be inspired by Cities - Recreate a busy city scene, build big buildings or traffic in streets that you would see in a bustling town, or any other creative idea. Please do not use LEGO sets as is - We want to see builds that are unique. Components from sets (e.g. wheels, bricks, accessories) are acceptable if they are used in a reimagined way.

Materials?
The NKY Makerspace will host open-build times, once-a-week after school, for Brick Build competitors. The NKY Makerspace will provide donated LEGOs which will be available during this time. Builds can also be created at home, as long as they are registered. Following display at The Maker Expo, the constructions can be kept by the brick builders. Attending the open-build times is completely optional. More information will be available mid-March.

When To Register?
Registration will be open until Thursday, May 9th, 2024.

Each attendee of The Maker Expo will receive a ticket to vote on their favorite brick build masterpiece. This award will be given to the builder who receives the most votes.
Prize: LEGO Set This award will be given to the builder that is most attentive to the smallest of all details.
