What Grades?
The Chalk Art Challenge is open to students in grades 9-12.

What Time?
Chalk artists can start their masterpieces at 8:00am. All designs must be completed by 12:00noon. We ask that artists actively work on their chalk art designs between the hours of 10am - 12 noon for visitors of The Maker Expo to watch the chalk designs come to life. From 12 noon - 1:45pm, the chalk artwork will be on display for The Maker Expo attendees to vote on the "People's Choice" award.

Transform a scene from a movie into a chalk art masterpiece. Movie title must be submitted at the time of registration.

How Big?
Each artist will have a 5' x 5' blacktop space.

Work in Pairs or Groups?
Competitors are welcome to work in pairs. However, we cannot accept groups of more than two because of space constraints. We want to make sure all artists have enough room to freely work around their 5'x5' blacktop space. Artists that choose to work in pairs will not be eligible for the Soloist Award.

Materials?
Water-based chalk will be provided. Artists can bring any other materials they wish to use.

When To Register?
Registration will be open until Friday, April 29th.

Each attendee of The Maker Expo will receive a ticket to vote on their favorite chalk art masterpiece. This award will be given to the artist who receives the most votes.
Prize: $25 Amazon Gift Card 
This award will be given to the artist that is able to best trick the eye into seeing the flat blacktop three dimensionally.
